A New Opportunity: Collin’s Make-A-Wish Event

eKidzCare had the pleasure of attending a Make-A-Wish Foundation event in honor of Collin Alexander, one of our eKidzCare kids in East Petersburg, PA. At this momentous event, the Make-A-Wish Foundation presented Collin with a new home ramp, allowing him to enjoy the outdoors with ease.

“Collin was able, for the first time, to go outside without the aid of multiple people. It was a heartwarming event due to the generosity of local businesses. Through this, nurses are now able to go out with Collin and enjoy the outside,” said Jake Pommerening, Branch Manager of eKidzCare Lancaster.

Collin’s big day also caught the eye of local news affiliate CBS21 News, who covered the event with a focus on how the Make-A-Wish Foundation is granting wishes during COVID-19.

In today’s COVID-19 climate, going outside and enjoying nature is one of the few safe activities most of us can still enjoy. That enjoyment now extends to Collin, who can be outside with his peers and loved ones.

eKidzCare was honored to be a part of Collin’s celebration, and we’re excited to see he and his family enjoy the lovely fall weather together.
